Anyone can be told a garment does not fit. Knowing why, and what to change on the pattern to fix it, is what separates a maker from a master. Drafting and making get you to a garment. Fitting is how you make it sit right on a real person, and then carry that correction back to the master pattern so the next one is right too.
Perform a first fitting and read what the cloth is telling you
Diagnose common faults on a real figure: a high shoulder, a round back, a bow leg
Apply the remedy, and remark the pattern to carry the correction through
Take the garment to a second fitting and on to a finished master pattern
